What the app does
Is It Dinkum helps you check whether a suspicious message is genuine or a scam. Show it a message and it reads it with the help of AI, then tells you whether it looks like a SCAM, is DINKUM (genuine), or is UNSURE — with the reasons in plain English and what to do next.
How to check a message
- 📷Take a photo of it — perfect when the message is on another phone or screen
- 📋Paste it — a copied text message, or a screenshot from your clipboard
- 🖼️Pick it from your photo library
Common questions
Is the answer always right?
No — it's a guide, not a guarantee. Treat it as a helpful second opinion. If you're in doubt, ask someone you trust, or contact the organisation directly using details you already know are real.
It says “I can't see any text in this image.”
The app looks for words in a picture before checking it. Make sure the message is clearly visible and in focus, then try again — or paste the text instead.
What do you do with my messages and photos?
We never store your images. We only keep information from messages that turn out to be scams, to help warn others. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my history?
Your check history is kept on your phone. Tap Delete on any card, or Delete All History at the bottom of the list.
